Learning from the Berber Nomads of the Sahara
The ancient Berber culture of the Sahara is one of a kind. Even though you find many Berber tribes among Morocco and in neighboring countries, their unique wisdom and way of life can positively influence how you see the world.
The Berber still preserve many of their ancient traditions, such as baking the bread in an earth oven, cooking a Tajine in an ancient ceramic pot over the slow fire for 2 hours, sharing tea with strangers and family alike, and more often than not – enjoying time to do nothing.
While it seems they truly live a slow life, there is power in the „non-doing“. While the Berber take the time to chat with colleagues, sip a tea, or take an afternoon nap, they allow their mind to rest. While they give themselves space to not do anything specific, they allow new ideas to emerge, and when the opportunity arises, they are fast to catch it.
Especially in the Sahara desert, the population has vastly adopted to tourism, while maintaining their own culture. Over the past 20 years a highway was built to lead more tourists from Marrakesh through the Atlas mountains into the desert, allowing more businesses to rise as well.
And while the tourism keeps changing and in recent years has been asking for more comfort, the Berber are quick to adapt and provide what people are asking for. More luxury tents are being built, more modern Riads emerge, a few more shops and restaurants opened.
But not only that. The population is extremely versatile and many of the locals speak four to five languages. Their strong nomad instinct coupled with a knack for business allows them to catch opportunities even before they present themselves. Be it through the connection to the earth and the stars, the ancient merchant blood that runs through their veins, or a general low-key competition between the men, the Berber are relaxed yet a the same time on top of their game.

Yoga in the Sahara
Enjoying daily morning yoga and embodiment in the Sahara desert can not only lower blood pressure and empty your mind of superfluous thoughts, it also helps to ground yourself and release harmful electromnagnetic frequencies that accumulate in the body from devices and cell towers.
As the exposure to electromagnetic frequncies increases, through long hours at the computer, a lack of connection ot nature, and more time on the phones connected to Wifi, the EMF increase in the body and can lead to stress and a feeling of disconnection.
By spending days in the Sahara desert, those frequencies are being discharged into the ground and replaced with healthy electronis from the electromagnet field of the earth, which helps to reduce inflammation, boost the mood, and strengthens the sense of self.

Meditation in the Sahara Desert
Meditation in the Sahara happens more naturally. Just by looking at the vast landscape of dunes, you can enter a space of inner quietness with ease. Even guided meditations, dance meditations, and visualisations tend to be much more easily accepssible here than in a room in the city. The connection between the powerful earth energy, the emptiness of the space, the soft round shapes of the dunes, and the lack of devices make it the perfect place to recharge your Soul.
Often it only needs the removal of distractions and „modern day life“ to find that place of stillness within again. Here, you can hear your inner wisdom clearly and receive inspiration that you can feel in your body.
Connecting with a Group of Like-minded People
And last but not least: Group connection is a powerful booster to your mood, your healthy habits, and your energy! Being in a group of like-minded people that you practice yoga, embodiment, dance, and meditation with is the best you can do for your Soul!
If everyone is on the same frequency, heads and hearts synchronise and give rise to enhanced growth, faster accomplishment of wishes, and enhanced feelings! The more the group moves in synchronicity, the better everyone feels, the more releaxed you become, and the more at ease you are with yourself and your life.
From that place, you easily make the right decisions and find your groove again :).
